Berg Propulsion is supplying propulsion technology and systems integration for the second and third vessels in India’s Green Tug Transition Programme, two all-electric tugs under construction by Mumbai-based KMEW Group. Ordered on behalf of India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the tugs were designed by Singapore-based Navnautik Naval Architects and Marine Consultants.

 

Each vessel measures 33.55m in overall length, with a moulded beam of 11.6m and a draught of 4.5m, and will deliver 60tonnes bollard pull. Power comes from
