If you’re studying towards a career in the maritime sector, you could be eligible for FREE Student Membership.
Our Student Membership is open to those studying subjects connected with naval architecture, maritime engineering, marine science and the wider maritime sector. We recognise that careers develop in different ways, so eligibility is intentionally broad and can include university, college, foundation, apprenticeship and other vocational routes.
If you’re still at secondary school but interested in a future career in the maritime sector, you can also apply for Student Membership. Depending on your stage of education, you may be admitted as a Junior Member, with access to the same core benefits and opportunities to learn more about maritime careers and study routes.
Student Membership is free throughout your studies, giving you access to RINA’s professional community, technical knowledge, mentoring and career development opportunities from the beginning of your career. If you have graduated within the last two years, you can apply for Associate Membership, whether or not you were previously a Student Member.

become a student ambassador
We are always looking to appoint Student Ambassadors who will act as a role model and motivator, whilst providing a vital link between RINA and their fellow students.
Students who are studying a subject related to the design, construction and maintenance of marine vessels and structures are ideal. As an Ambassador you will be on hand to offer support, encouragement, and advice when needed.
In return, you will get: priority consideration for RINA conferences and events, a RINA volunteer recognition certificate, free publications, priority ballot for the annual dinner and monthly Student Ambassador check-in calls.
