About the award

RINA Developing Careers Champion Award recognises outstanding work that supports people as they progress from an initial interest in maritime careers towards becoming professionally registered naval architects.

Presented annually, the Award celebrates individuals, companies and organisations that have made a lasting contribution through career guidance, training, mentoring and professional development.

Individuals may be nominated for promoting maritime careers, creating development opportunities, mentoring applicants for professional registration or undertaking other activities that support developing naval architects.

Companies and organisations may be nominated for championing early-career development, providing exceptional training opportunities or demonstrating a strong commitment to the next generation of naval architects.

Who is eligible?


This prestigious recognition by RINA celebrates outstanding efforts in fostering a thriving future for naval architects.

Individuals

Individuals, who have made significant contributions to:

  • promoting maritime careers; and/or
  • facilitating initial development opportunities above and beyond what is reasonably expected; and/or
  • mentoring those applying for professional registration; and/or
  • any other activities that support developing naval architects,

 

Companies

Companies and organisations that champion:

  • early career development,
  • provide exceptional training opportunities, or
  • demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the next generation of naval architects.

What you can win

Award presented at the Award Ceremony
You'll receive your award at the Award Ceremony, attended by maritime professionals, industry leaders, and academics.

Permission to use the winner’s logo
You can use the official Maritime Safety Award winner’s logo in your reports, presentations, website, and promotional materials.

Promotion on RINA’s platforms

Nominations

Nominations can be made by any member of the global maritime community and will be judged by a panel of members of the Institution (in this case the Developing Careers committee with oversight from Secretariat) that will assess nominations on their contribution to growing maritime careers.

Nominations should include a 750 word summary, describing the significant contribution made towards inspiring children (18 and under) into the maritime industry and naval architecture.
