Swedish-Swiss multinational technology firm ABB has secured a contract with Spanish state-owned shipbuilder Navantia to supply two coastal hydrographic vessels for the Spanish Navy with a complete DC-based power distribution and propulsion system.

 

Scheduled for delivery by 2028, the vessels will be used for mapping and studying Spain’s coastal waters, supporting national defence, environmental monitoring and maritime safety.
