EVENT DESCRIPTION
This lecture explores the evolving relationship between digitalization and decarbonization in the maritime industry, highlighting how these two major transformation drivers increasingly intersect. We will demystify artificial intelligence (AI) by breaking down what it is and how it applies to Maritime - from performance optimisation and predictive maintenance to emissions reduction and regulatory compliance. Through a set of focused case study, we will also addressing the strategic dilemma many organisations face when balancing digital investments with sustainability priorities.

SPEAKER/PRESENTER
Alberto Manfredini has over 20 years of global experieicne across Asia, North America, and Europe, leading technical and operational teams in the maritime and energy sectors - from vessel construction and management to inspection, certification, and strategic transformation. As Head of London Cruise Centre, Alberto leads lead cruise operational excellence, technical support, and business development for DNV in Europe, working closely with partners to elevate safety, sustainability, and innovation across the passenger ship industry. His focus is on enabling smart decarbonisation, digitalisation, and modernisation - helping the industry navigate change with clarity and confidence.
