Speakers:
Paul Willerton has devoted his life to the maritime community both at sea and ashore. After serving with distinction in the Merchant Navy - gaining invaluable experience, resilience, and leadership - he transitioned into maritime education, becoming Deputy Head of the University of Plymouth’s Maritime School. Paul also led the initiative to establish the Merchant Navy Monument on Plymouth Hoe, ensuring that the service and sacrifice of merchant seafarers are permanently honoured. His career reflects a steadfast commitment to maritime heritage, education, and community. Charles Hattersley served in the Royal Navy as a Seaman Officer for 16 years, latterly in the submarine fleet. On leaving the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander he embarked on a career in the legal profession, becoming a solicitor specialising in maritime work. His cases ranged from the commercial and technical to personal claims, representing his clients in the highest courts in the land. He has participated in several arbitrations with the London Maritime Arbitration Association (LMAA) and numerous mediations.
ALL are welcome to attend.
CPD certificates will be available upon request.
