The scheme is designed to create meaningful, practical connections.

For mentees, this means access to guidance on career progression, exposure to real-world challenges and the opportunity to build their professional network.

For mentors, it offers a chance to support others while developing leadership and coaching skills, and gaining fresh perspectives from across the industry.

Earlier this year, we introduced RINA’s new mentoring scheme as part of our membership offering, and we have seen a strong response from across the community.

Nearly 10% of members have already signed up, this reflects both the willingness to support others and the demand for structured guidance at different stages of professional development.

You do not need to be in a senior role to act as a mentor, and you do not need a fully defined plan to join as a mentee. The focus is on creating constructive, relevant conversations that support development on both sides.

We have now begun the first round of matching for RINA’s mentoring scheme. If you have not yet signed up, we encourage you to do so. Your mentor or mentee may already be part of the scheme.
