This presentation will look at the process for undertaking towage approval surveys including the selection of appropriate environmental factors as limiting conditions for towage operations, towline pull requirements for towing objects such as barges & ships, tug bollard pull assessment, surveys of towed objects for tow-worthiness, suitability surveys on towing vessels, main & emergency towing gear configurations, and planning for towage operations.

The presentation will also include case studies to show where tows have run into difficulties and review the lessons learned from these failures.

The talk is free and open to all those interested.
