This year, on May 17, we had the 3rd edition of this conference. Graduate and undergraduate students of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, at MUN as well as professional engineers attended the conference.
Students of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering presented eleven technical papers. Each presentation was followed by an interesting and engaging discussion.

This year, Susan Hunt, Chief Technology Officer at Ocean Supercluster, gave a key note talk on “Opportunities for innovation and collaboration in Canada’s ocean industries”
During the conference, two students, received the RINA best paper award, and RINA best presentation award for their papers presented at the 2nd ONAE Annual Student Technical Conference, in 2018. The best paper award was presented to the PhD student Shafiul Mintu for his paper on: “Evaluation of Ice Management Performance Using SPH-DEM Approach”. The best presentation award was presented to the Master’s student Mohamed Auf for his presentation on: “Dynamic Analysis of Fishing Vessel Structures”. In the pictures, the two Graduate Students receive their awards from Lorenzo Moro, Chair of the Canadian Atlantic Branch of The Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
