Turkish builder Hidrodinamik has completed a jack-up platform for French construction company Bouygues Travaux Publics (BYTP), which intends to put it to work at its current expansion project in the Port of Calais.
The platform measures 36m in length, 17.5m in breadth and 3m in height, and has a deck load rating of 8tonnes per m². A 250tonne-capacity crawler crane will operate on the platform, and the deck area where the crane is situated will be reinforced for a deck load of 60tonnes per m². This crawler crane will mainly be used to install concrete blocks on the sea bed.
Designed to safely withstand 2m wave heights and 15m per second wind speeds, the platform has an operating depth of 26m. Other features include four mooring winches and four mooring bollards, each of which feature capacities of 12tonnes, plus a towing bollard, a pair of 96kW generators and a 26kW generator.
