Ship & Boat International eNews: January/February 2021

Washingtonian boatbuilder Brix Marine (formerly Armstrong Marine) has handed over a new luxury water taxi, Liberty National I, to Liberty National Golf Club. The private club will use the boat to shuttle passengers between its dock in New Jersey and North Cove Marina, New York.

Liberty National I was built to the specs of Brix Marine’s 4615-CTC class, which measures 14m in length and 4.6m in breadth and has a depth of 1.2m. The boat has a navigational draught of 914mm (or 457mm to the hull) and features the capacity for 30 passengers and two crew. Interior design was assisted by Teresa Francis of Seattle, and includes quartz countertops and leather wrap-around bench seats.

Brix Marine adds: “A tinted polycarbonate window behind the helm station provides privacy for guests and crew.” The cabin offers flip-down golf bag storage, an entertainment electronics package and a galley with refrigerator drawers.

The boat is powered by twin Yamaha outboards, each rated 317kW, for a cruise speed of 25knots. Vessels in this class have a fuel consumption rate of 0.35litres per km. The navigation equipment package comprises Garmin and Furuno solutions, while a 12kW Northern Lights generator serves the boat’s onboard requirements.
