Warship 2016: Advanced Technologies in Naval Design, Construction, & Operation
15-16 June 2016, Bath, UK Sponsored by:
Modern warships are extremely complex and technologically advanced engineering systems. In the period from the initial concept to the final construction the number of different strategic environments in which the vessel may need to operate, may not yet be fully defined. The challenge is to deliverer a design that can meet this need for increased flexibility within a framework of stricter budget requirements and environmental constraints.
The emphasis for the Warship 2016 Conference will be very much on advanced and future technologies. It will provide the opportunity to both present advanced technologies which have been developed, and technologies which will shortly become available to the ship designer, builder and operator of naval vessels, and to provide update on future developments.
RINA invites papers from, project managers, operators, researchers, designers, builders and class societies on all related topics, including:
- Requirements for future navies
- Modularity in design, construction and outfitting
- Hull technology and design
- Propulsion Systems
- Hydrodynamics
- Advanced Manufacturing Techniques 3D printing, etc.
- Survivability
- Maintenance and Upgrades
- Vessel System and Equipment Integration
- Autonomous Operation
- Training and logistics use of augmented reality, etc.
- Rules and regulations - development of standards, etc.
