Container Ship Safety - Workshop 2021
6th May - 10:00 UK
Introduction
The Safety Committee of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects is holding a Workshop on the Safety of Container Ships on Thursday 6th May. The Committee is very interested to know RINA members' opinions on the subject of current container safety. Since there have been several accidents recently, at recent RINA HQ technical meetings there has been much disquiet from members of the Safety Committee, as well as from the RINA IMO Committee, about the Safety of Container Ships and the safe stowage of Containers. One such case was experienced by the ‘ONE Apus’ which lost overboard 1800 containers of her maximum of 14,000 TEU. And only last month there was the unfortunate blockage of the Suez Canal by a ULCS.''
The Safety Committee invites all RINA members to a 2 hour Workshop on the above subject.
