RINA-KORAB Joint Branch - News

Reports of Branch meetings and activities, articles of interest to Branch members.  Members proposing articles for inclusion in the Branch News page should contact the Hon Secretary.

The historic role of engineering professional institutions such as the Royal Institution of Naval Architects has been to promote and facilitate the exchange of technical and scientific information, views and discussion, and through this to influence and contribute towards furthering the knowledge and standards within their particular discipline of engineering.  Professional institutions today have a wider and more proactive part to play in promoting the individual and corporate standards of professional competence and conduct that industry requires and society demands.

In his presentation to the RINA - KORAB Joint Branch on 22 Mar 2007, Trevor Blakeley, Chef Executive of the Royal Institution, examined the pivotal role a modern professional institution plays in the education, professional development and employment of engineers of all disciplines, in all countries.
