The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) is pleased to organise the Naval Platform Technology Seminar (NPTS) 2007 in the Singapore Exposition Centre on 16th and 17th May 2007 in conjunction with the International Maritime Defence Exhibition Asia (IMDEX Asia) 2007.
The theme for NPTS 2007 is 'New Environment, New Technology, New Capability'. This theme reflects the focus for the seminar: to share knowledge on new technologies that will create new naval capabilities to meet the challenges in the new security environment. Today, the Navies are faced with a widened spectrum of operations, from conventional warfare to maritime security to Maritime Operations Other Than War or MOOTW. As a result, new tactics, doctrines and strategies have to be developed to meet these new challenges. Correspondingly, new capabilities have to be developed, often by applying new technologies, to support the new tactics, doctrines and strategies.
