Denny Library
Introduction
In addition to bound volumes covering all aspects of design, construction, maintenance and operation of commercial and naval vessels, the Denny Library also holds a wide range of other relevant technical publications, including copies of all technical papers published by the Institution, together with those of other organisations. The Denny Library is open to all members of RINA from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, it is advisable to check that the library is not being used for meetings. There is no facility to loan books. Members of other professional institutions and societies with whom the Institution has an Agreement of Co-operation may also request to use the library facilities.
Library Database (Members' Only Access)
A computer search facility enables visitors to search for book titles and authors and directs them to the location in the library where the publications are stored. The database also lists all papers published by the RINA since 1960 in the Transactions and Conference Proceedings by title, author(s) and abstract.
Photocopying of Information
Photocopying facilities are available. Up to two papers from any one publication or a total of 3 papers may be copied. A charge for photocopying will be made to non-members.
Periodicals
A wide range of journals, periodicals and newsletters are held in the library, normally for up to 12 months from issue
RINA Business Centre
The Denny Library also contains the Business Centre for the use of Members who need to catch up on paperwork or require access to telephone/fax facilities. The Business Centre is available Monday to Friday, between 9:30 am and 5:00pm when the Library is not being used for meetings. Available facilities include:
- Use of PC (MS Office)
- Use of fax machine
- Use of photocopier (A charge will be made for international calls and photocopying)
- Availability of wireless internet access
- Complimentary tea and coffee
- Buffet lunch (Orders before 10:00am)
Members wishing to use the Business Centre are advised to check that the Denny Library is not being used for meetings. |
