Overview
Nearly 500 papers have been presented and published in both Chinese and English at the annual China International Conference on High Performance Marine Vessels, which is now in its 8th year and which has become an important forum for the discussion of technical and scientific matters relating to high performance marine vessels in both the Chinese domestic and international markets.
High performance marine vessels for both commercial and recreational use continue to be developed to meet a wider range of roles and more demanding operating conditions. The high speed maritime industry is seeking to extend its operating envelopes, reduce downtime and increase reliability, safety and comfort. The use of new materials and more efficient production methods are being explored to reduce costs.
HPMV China 2008 will again bring together representatives of the international maritime industry and academia to present and discuss developments relating to a wide range of high performance marine vessels, including small planing craft, paramilitary vessels, passenger ferries, freight carriers and recreational craft. Monohull, multihull, ACV/SES/WIG/HYF, and novel hull designs will all be covered.
