RINA will be represneted at the following meetings during the beginning of the year 2008.
1. DE 51 (18 - 22 February)
The following items of the agenda will have specific interest to the naval architects:
Item 11 "Amendments to the Guidelines for ships operating in Antarctic waters" in view of the sinking of the MS Explorer in November 2007. Item 13 "Guidelines for uniform operating limitations of high speed craft" will analyse the work of the correspondence group of which RINA continues to be a contributing member. Item 14 "Guidelines for maintenance and repairs of protective coatings". Items 15 and 19 are related to corrosion protection. Item 26 "policy determining the need for w/t doors to be open during navigation". Item 27 "Definition of the term bulk carrier".

Members of the IMO Naval Architecture Group who wish to attend any IMO meeting as a RINA observer should contact the Group Secretary at . Members should note that there may be a restriction on numbers.
